24 weeks and still growing!

Alrighty then! I've had more requests to post some belly pics and here they are... I'm 24 weeks along... 25 weeks on Wednesday and all is going well....except that the back pain has once again found me. I've also learned that I'm not such a quiet sleeper anymore...I have awaken in the middle of the night only to find that I was snoring....I've never been a snorer so it's a bit amusing...David, the light and sensory sleeper that he is, doesn't enjoy listening to my snores...but I just keep reminding him that snores are the LEAST of his worries...we will have all sorts of sounds coming from our room in a few months! This week I'll be heading to WC Kaiser for my glucose testing...yuck! Starting on April 20th, we begin our childbirth prep. classes. I can't believe how fast my pregnance is going!

I have been enjoying feeling more movements going on inside. I can feel when she is flipping or turning...and she loves to kick me when I'm trying to relax during the evening. I've been eating a lot of Mexican food....what's new right? Let's hope that this baby enjoys it as much as I do. I still love my Baskin Robbins milkshakes too...especially as the weather is becoming more and more beautiful.
Also....I went to a princess party this weekend for my best friends daughter who turned 4. Yes, I followed in my mother's footsteps and dressed up in a very pink-fluffy princess-like (fairy god mother??) dress.....although the back would not zip up completely due to the protruding belly...The little princess loved having a real-life princess-fairy at the party to paint their faces. It was great!

We are settling in more and more here in Benicia. I will be off for the next 2 weeks and I'm planning on getting the baby's room more situated and hopefully David and I will be able to go Target and/or Babies R Us to register. My husband wonders why we can't just register at Home Depot.. Hmmm.

Baby Girl is on the Move!

Hi!
I realize it's been a while since I've posted. Here's a quick update. I'm 21 and 1/2 weeks pregnant and for the last week, I have been feeling her "move"....a lot! At first I just thought my stomach was dealing with the amount of food that I ate, but as I began to rest and patiently wait with my hand on my belly...sure I enough, I felt her little "pops"...She's enjoying kicking me mostly on my left side and gets really active after I eat a meal. David was able to feel her once which was really exciting for both of us...I'm enjoying her gentle movements every day as it reminds me of how marvelous God's creation really is. I am amazed at how human life develops inside so perfectly and I am blessed that I am able to enjoy this wonderful journey of pregnancy.

Above...is a group shot of myself, David and a group of old friends at Chad's 70's party. I was hoping to fit into some bell-bottoms...but nonetheless, my best friend Christie was able to find me a nice, long tie dye shirt...Check out David...yes..the soon to be father with the BIG hair and ultimate 70's suit from JC Penney... Thanks to CeCe and Sean for picking out our lovely outfits from the Goodwill.

Our daughter will be sooo happy to have such fabulous parents that seem to enjoy dressing up...well...I'll thank my mom for instilling in me all the crazy costume days I once had...Love you my beautiful and creative momma!

Soon to come...more belly pics as I am growing every day! :)- Melissa

Ultrasound 2.17.09

Last Tuesday I had my "big" ultrasound. I had to drink a ton of water right before my appointment. Then I had to...wait...and wait...and wait. By the time I got in to see the technician, I thought I was going to burst. David was with me and was trying to not laugh as he watched me squirm in my uncomfortableness. We were excited to see the baby on the screen and to watch the baby move around...there was one time where the hand was over the face, and then three fingers went down to make a pretend gun for us...David liked that one.
As the technician was looking at the baby and all the organs, she asked us if we wanted to know the sex. We both said, "Oh yeah"...but my husband said, "But...it'll just confirm what I already know. It's a boy...it's definitely a Gaynor boy!" I just smiled because honestly, I was going back and forth between..."is it a girl....I think so, no, it's a boy...I am eating way too much!" I never got any morning sickness at all either. The technician asked us what our parents were hoping for. We told her they wanted a baby girl because we have several boys in the family. As she continued with the ultrasound, she told David, "Well...it looks like your parents might be right on this one. So far, it looks like a girl!"
I looked over, and David had a big smile on his face...I think it was shock and excitedness. She finished up the ultrasound and pretty much assured us that we were indeed having a baby girl.
After we left...we went to Macy's to buy a couple of "girly" outfits. It was great to finally be able to visualize a bit more what God has blessed us with. I'll post pics of the ultrasound as soon as I can...and maybe of an outfit that we bought!

18 weeks- The belly is growing! 2/15/09

Last week, David and I were at our friends house- Amber and Mike in W. Sac. Amber was showing me her bright green room and we decided that it would be perfect for a backdrop for some pregnancy pics. I pulled in David from playing "guitar hero" so that he could be a part of this glorious moment! I hope you enjoy watching us both grow as we welcome our first child due on July 15th, 2009! Thanks Amber for the pics! These photos were taken on February 15th, 2009.
